Wow, talk about “eating with your eyes!” What a gorgeous looking plate!
As always, Chef Mimi blew me away with this incredible recipe!
On her blog where she shares the step-by-step recipe, Mimi begins her story this way:
“Chef Laurent Tourondel is a Michelin starred chef who came from France to the U.S. to introduce his concept of “new American bistro” cooking. He is a partner in the BLT (Bistro Laurent Tourondel) restaurant group. I have no memory of why I purchased his cookbook, published in 2007.”
Of course, I have many cookbooks with NO MEMORY of when I got them – so it’s always an adventure to grab one off the shelf and see where it takes me!
Click on Chef Mimi’s blog here to get more of the story and a great look at the recipe for this dish! Just click on the pan!
I have cooked with Lobster myself – including the time I made a dish that caused me to do this:
OK, bear with me – it was a Sous Vide Lobster with bone marrow! You can see my 3-day battle with this recipe – yes, THREE DAYS – by clicking here:
Chef / Author Michael Ruhlman collaborated on most of Chef Thomas Keller’s Cookbooks, but I also made a dish from Michael’s terrific “Egg” Cookbook as well:
That “crispy Mollet Egg” almost broke me!

Back to Lobster: there is a restaurant that serves up Lobster this way:
I want to remind everyone this is a dish designed to be shared by the entire table – so nothing ever goes to waste!
See where they serve “Lobster Mountains” here:

aww thanks! This Cobb was exceptional. That tower of lobsters?? I want that!!!!
I wil be making it soon and the lobster tower looks incredible – but you have to have a large table for it to be served!
Lobster. Egg, bone marrow my tastebuds are zinging!
I have only ever eaten lobster in restaurants as a treat. It is one of the most expensive things to buy here so I have never cooked it at home. Now I live nearer to the coast, there are more opportunities to eat lobster, though much of it is actually sourced from outside the UK.
Best wishes, Pete.
Now that is my kind of salad!
