Have You Cooked With Black Garlic? Chef Mimi’s Got A “Pasta With Black Garlic Morels” Recipe! Here Are Other Mushroom Recipes Too!

Two great food sites recently shared mushroom based recipes that I want to make!

First, Chef Mimi discovered a terrific ingredient thanks to her daughter – she begins her recipe this way:

“My younger daughter asked me a while back if I’d ever used black garlic. I told her I hadn’t yet. I’m typically late jumping on the culinary trend bandwagon. And typically, I regret being stubborn. That ended up being the case with black garlic, which was supposedly introduced to the U.S. in 2008!”

Well, Mimi whipped up a delicious dish that I must make!

And since we are on mushroom, the terrific website “Cook And Drink” also was in a mushroom mood:

Here’s what they had to share:

“White Button Mushrooms and Cremini can be eaten raw, but we think they are tastier when fried or marinated, which is exactly what we do for this salad. A tasty accompaniment that will bring umami and depth to your dish. We combined the salad with carrots prepared in butter, lemon and lamb chops. The meat was fried in olive oil and seasoned with chopped thyme and black pepper. A delicious and light combination.”

I will continue to share great recipes foremother food websites, as well as some of my own:

The famous Denmark restaurant NOMA now sells sauces, so I bought a “smoked mushroom garam” sauce and made this dish!

See the recipe here:

And if you want to try something exotic with a bit of meat, why not this pie?

Yes, I actually tried to make a “Duck Pancetta Mustard” pie!

How did it turn out?

  3. this sounds amazing, I don’t that I’ve ever tasted anything with black garlic as an ingredient

  4. I’m a fan of garlic, but have yet to use this type at home. I haven’t even tried to buy it yet, but I will start looking now.
