Behold The “Sleep-In” Potato! Idaho Has A Night Of “Spud” Life!
Ready for this? The Idaho Potato Commission has gifted Airbnb with a six-ton potato hotel set on 400 acres of land – the “Big Idaho Potato Hotel!”
I love this celebration of the potato!
Yes, it was built to look EXACTLY like an Idaho Spud, but this is not an actual oversized potato. Instead, this is a 28-foot long structure made from steel, plaster, and concrete, and unloaded on this land to be slept in!
It was created to celebrate the Idaho Potato Commission’s 75th anniversary – and I for one am hungry to celebrate!
I found this picture online, and located a story that told me more detail.
Bestproducts.com reported:
“Despite looking like an actual potato on the outside, the inside is surprisingly chic. There are millennial pink chairs, house plants, an all-white queen-size bed, and even a fireplace. (There’s air conditioning too, thankfully).”
As you can see, it is cute inside, but be aware: there’s no kitchen inside this potato, just a small bathroom with a wash basin, toilet, and sink.
You can stay in the “Big Idaho Potato Hotel” for just $200 a night plus a $31 service fee and $16 in occupancy taxes and fees. It’s booked through May, but there are plenty of open dates starting in June! To note, there is no WiFi or TV inside the potato, so consider this your own mini technology detox.
Thanks to “Bestproducts.com” for the great story!
So, would you stay here? I sure would!
It can’t be any worse that this:
Have you see a “microscopic” apartment? Imagine living in an apartment smaller than a parking spot!

Back to potatoes, if you just want to eat some instead of sleep in one, here’s the world most decadent recipe!
And let me know if you are up for a night in a spud!

well it might be chic but I’ll need a window in the potato!
Yes cool to see and then back to a real room with a view!
yes, I would be up for this for one night!
That is so cool, but it looks a bit claustrophobic to me.
Agree! Cool to see then let’s drive back to the lodge!
I think one night would be enough but it looks so cool…I would definitely stay “_
No windows, and in the middle of nowhere by the look of it. Maybe not for me, John.
Best wishes, Pete.
Yes Pete! Funny to drive by, then head to the hotel with the pool! Cheers!
