Time To “Boil In A Bag” For Dinner!
It was a simpler time, right? I mean, these retro ads for “cookin’ bag” foods are something!
After all, who doesn’t want a freshly boiled turkey sandwich?
Well, those were the days, right?
WRONG!
One of the most popular new “home delivery” foods are basically “boil in a bag” offerings like this:
Prepared food that are sealed in a bag and just need to be “boiled” to perfection!
So I decided to do just that!
It all began when I ordered these terrific Mila ground pork noodles…frozen and ready to bring to life via “boil in a bag”!
First, I sautéed garlic and roasted corn in some sesame oil…after cooking for a few minutes, it was now time to make my “boil in a bag” dish….watch the next steps in this short video where it all comes together so easily:
There is is, just put it in a bowl and you have a delicious and easy bowl of ground pork noodles!
You can serve this alongside a salad, or even something like pork won tons or potstickers…or just have it as a filling meal on its own!
It’s important to remember that boiling food in hot water is an acceptable cooking practice – in fact, did you know you can make lasagna – and salmon – in your dishwasher?
See, you just bag it up and let the heat and moisture do the cooking!

i remember those banquet dinners! and haven’t cooked in my dishwasher yet
I’ve seen microwave in a bag. Boil in a bag is new to me. A nice idea for single working people who don’t have a lot of time to cook.
It was a popular technique in the 70’s for ease of making a meal, but now it’s become popular again because gourmet meals are being sent that way…like my ramen noodles!
