I grew up with clams in my life as well – as my Grandfather was a Shrimp fisherman outside of Seattle, and we had plentiful clams, oysters, shrimp and more!

I have enjoyed clam linguinie in Italian restaurants, but have never bought them to cook at home. They can make you very ill if you get a ‘bad’ one, so I leave it up to experienced chefs.

Pete, I grew up in a “clam prolific” area, so understand your point: if you don’t learn early on how to spot a bad one you have a very Long and unpleasant night ahead!
