Eating The Summer Olympic Games In Paris! Three Incredible Dishes + Pistachio Ice Cream Too!

Welcome To Paris!

I am in Paris for the opening night celebration of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games – and since this is a food blog, I wanted to share three dishes I have had this week that blew me away – and some ice cream too!

Let’s start with crevettes! These giant Shrimp were bathed in a buttery sauce that made them a decadent delight!

We ate them at Le Divillec, an incredible seafood restaurant on the left bank…I will be sharing the entire feast soon but wanted you to see what I am eating!

Oh, and did anyone say “caviar?”

This was shaved melon, which is in season and incredibly delicious, topped with a creamy caviar sauce…it’s from David Toutain, a two-Michelin star restaurant that is to die for…here is video proof:

That is a beautifully composed dish of Lamb…what a meal this was!

So…three dishes from two incredible restaurants – full reviews coming…oh and for dessert:

While my wife Alex is working opening night for NBC Sports, I decided to buy a Pistachio ice cream cone from my hotel – for only 3 euros! Yes, I am living the Olympics dream!

Here is how we were greeted at the Arc de Triomphe when we arrived earlier this week:

And I have spent the week eating my way through Paris, which included lots of swine!

Yes, I ate a pig’s tooter and here’s how it tasted:

I also shared a behind-the-scenes look at preparations for the Olympic Games, which meant a LOT of security:

That’s fine, it was worth it – check out lots of videos and more here:

So much fun – and so much food!

As I told you, Alex is a “lover of potatoes”, and if you click here you can see our journey through Paris by way of all the unique potato dishes we ate like this!

And there were many more as well – click here to see them all!

Of course, my favorite dish of all is this potato pie:

Or maybe a potato cake – either way, click here for the recipe for making it at home – it’s incredible!
