Who Needs A “Prawn Cocktail Scotch Eggs” Recipe? It’s From Carol’s Terrific Holiday Cookbook!

Celebrating Carol’s “Homemade Christmas” Cookbook!

So exciting to share once again – the great food blogger Carol Taylor released a holiday cookbook, which I purchased – and you can buy it as well on Amazon!

As she wrote in her announcement when the cookbook was released:

“I have cooked for years initially taught by my mother and grandmother and as I grew older by trial and error yes I have and still have monumental disasters in the kitchen unless I set my trusty timer I am sure many of you can relate to this I get my head stuck down a rabbit hole and nothing else exists time stands still… and then the burnt smell reaches your nose…”

Well, that’s never been my experience, as she has shared many terrific recipes online for all of us to enjoy!

And here’s what I will be making next week!

As you can see, Chapter 17 offers up a really unique take on a “Scotch Egg” – using Prawns!

I love going through the entire book because it has everything from snack, nibbles, and making dishes as well…

I was going to make these for a pre-Christmas dinner, but time ran out – so I will be making them the week of the 27th – and will share the result.

In the meantime, get the cookbook yourself – you can download it onto a device, and get cooking for friends and family for the holiday!

Click here to see more and the way you can buy a copy like I did – it’s easy and inexpensive!

Carol has shared so many great stories about food – and the important issues surrounding how we consume food on this planet…

Carol’s series on food and culture around the world is terrific…click here to see her take on German food:

As it’s Christmas, I will also share her great Christmas Ham recipe – you can see her story on it here:

As for me, I will be making my traditional holiday feast, which begins with this as the centerpiece:

This “Gigot D’Agneau” is a treat at Christmas – and Easter too!

Here’s the recipe:

Sometimes, I make a separate potato side dish as well – because it’s a classic Parisian “potato cake!”

This always gets a huge response when served – click here for the recipe – it’s not difficult and trust me it’s a showstopper:

There is nothing more fun than tackling a new recipe and having it turn out well:
