the ‘apple’ interpretation is so funny and something that could happen to me. my mom used to put a piece of bread in with cookies to keep them moist and good thing I didn’t misinterpret and add it into the recipe! I remember your ‘corn days’ of trying out all sorts of corn recipes fondly and I am also a huge fan of vintage holiday recipes! I’m making my vintage wieiner tree by request again for a party next week, it was a hit with my family
Sometimes I’m amazed at the things you find to share with us, like the haystack! I do like the look of that big fat milk bar cookie, too!
Thank for for the link to my cookie recipe! I think of my mom whenever I make them, and have a good laugh. Even my granddaughter who never met her laughs about it.
I love the story about them, and plan to make some!
My husband has nibbled away a good portion of them, hope there’s some left for the granddaughter!
I like the look of both of those cookies, John. But Dorothy’s rum flavour sounds like that would be my first choice.
