It’s National Pasta Day 2025! Celebrating With Giuliana And Bill! Stanley Tucci’s “Pasta Pie” + “Under The Tuscan Sun” Pici Rolling!

It’s National Pasta Day 2025!

I love all of the “food holidays” throughout the year, and nothing is better than this one: a celebration of all things pasta!

So I have reached out to all of my Celebrity contacts to celebrate!

I love these shots: when I try to raise the pasta a far above the bowl as I can – who doesn’t love a bowl of pasta and sauce?

So why do we celebrate National Pasta Day? Here’s why:

It’s a day to celebrate all things pasta and the role it plays in different cultures. Pasta has a long and storied history that spans centuries. Its origins are most commonly associated with Italy, but the idea of mixing water and flour to create a dough that is then cooked dates back to ancient civilizations. Rancic

So let’s start our celebrity celebration with some great pasta from Giuliana and Bill, with her Mom’s incredibly delicious “Mama Depandi” sauce – that you can buy to make at home!

I used Mama DePandi’s Pomodoro sauce, adding it to sautéed garlic, onion and carrot.

I especially love adding the sauce to the pan – the smell was intoxicating!

I stirred all of the elements together as you saw and then let it simmer on the stove, covered, for about 45 minutes…then it was time to bring it all together like this:

You can see the entire recipe and an in-depth look at their product line – really really delicious – by clicking on my story here:

I also made pasta in the house that was used in the film “Under The Tuscan Sun!”

Here’s a look:

While we were there, we did a number of cooking classes at the house, so I have a question for you: have you rolled your own “Pici?” Well, I did and here’s how that went:

Our entire group took part, all inside the “Under The Tuscan Sun” house in Cortona Italy…here’s a look inside and the Pici recipe!

And remember when this happened? I tackled Stanley Tucci’s famous “Timpano” – which I call a “pasta pie!”

Yep, I attempted to make this dish that Tucci makes and so I did as well! Here’s what happened when we pulled it from the oven:

That was terrifying and exhilarating! This dish was featured in Tucci’s incredible film “Big Night” which you must watch…I have the link below…and when my wife Alex showed these photos to Stanley, he congratulated me on the effort!

See the entire recipe and cooking process here!

As I said, I first saw this recipe in Tucci’s great great film “Big Night”:

  2. Ever since I saw that film, I have wanted to try Timpano. I’m just not brave enough to try to make one!

    Best wishes, Pete.
