The Magical Flavors Of Paris…
This is a dish of fresh Hamachi, all dolled up for us, courtesy of the iconic Fouquet’s on the Champs-Elysee in Paris. It’s just one of the many incredible dishes I enjoyed when I was in the city of lights! Here’s another from Fouquet’s, a roasted sea bass:

We ate in a numbers of terrific restaurants while we were in Paris for the Olympics – like “Ventre”, where we started with another gorgeous Hamachi dish:

In the Middle Ages, Vantre meant “a place of enjoyment” and such is the ambition behind this 11th arrondissement, which has one of the best wine lists in Paris as well.
And if you want something a bit “meatier”, how about an incredible “foie gras-stuffed” Pigeon dish!

Yes, it was delicious and I did finish it off this way!

And that was just lunch!
We returned to one of our favorite Paris restaurants as well:

Chef Stéphane Jégo loves to cook over open flame, and sometimes will bring your dish that way to your table!
They also serve the best rice pudding in Paris – see it up close here!
We also enjoyed an amazing meal at a train station!

In this case inside the stunning Le Train Bleu restaurant at Gare de Lyon, the iconic train station…here’s the subtle dining room that greets you:

Stunning! Probably the only thing more gorgeous that this restaurant’s interior is the gorgeously poached Salmon at Le Train Bleu:
I shared some of my Paris food adventure after being in the city for the week leading up to the 2024 Summer Olympic Games…just how restricted was it?
Here’s a hint:

I call this “caged drinking!”
You see, all of the streets near the Eiffel Tower were closed to traffic, and pedestrians were kept for the most part behind fences like this:

To be fair, all of the police and soldiers were very polite, friendly and helpful, and if you stayed away from the areas where the games were going to be held, it was all normal!
Walking the city and finding fun bites to eat is one of the joys of Paris – here’s what I found while Alex was working:
So much fun – and so much food! While Alex worked, I took myself to lunch and dug into this:
Delicious French Onion Soup at the iconic Au Pied de Cochon – check out my entire meal here!
As I told you, Alex is a “lover of potatoes”, and if you click here you can see our journey through Paris by way of all the unique potato dishes we ate like this!

And there were many more as well – click here to see them all!
Of course, my favorite dish of all is this potato pie:

Or maybe a potato cake – either way, click here for the recipe for making it at home – it’s incredible!

Thanks we had some fun food adventures that I was hoping people would like!
Oh man! What an amazing way to eat your way through Paris!
Ah Paris, so many places to dine and so little time.
Indeed, which is why we continue to back time and again! Cheers!
the food is amazing art in itself, no need to find a museum )
It all looks delicious and I would eat it all except for the Foie Gras 🙂
I can take or leave the Hamachi, but sign me up fot the rest of that deliciousness!
Best wishes, Pete.
Pete, I ate my way through the city with and without Alex! Thanks for the comment hope you are continuing to feel better!
Oh you got me hungry now John. I went to Le Train Bleu many years ago and had wonderful food.
