Hamburgers Get A Colorful Upgrade! “Samurai Red” Burgers Are Here! Black ‘n’ Blue Buns Too!

Say Hello To “Samurai Red!”

Yes, I may have an unnatural obsession with colored hamburger buns, like this one that Burger King Japan once rolled out – using tomato powder!

That’s right! The buns and cheese are red because of tomato powder, according to a company release. The burger came with a grilled onion slice plus “Angry Sauce” flavored with doubanjiang spicy chili bean paste. The chicken got lettuce and tomato.

The “Aka Samurai Beef” cost ¥540 – or $4.35. One reason I love Japan is that they just keep making colorful and imaginative burgers for the rest of the world to envy – like these ones!

“Hold Your Tongue!”

I would love to see if there is a unique flavor to a red bun, so I have to head to Tokyo to try it out! And don’t forget this “black tongue” burger as well!

  1. Most unusual! Looks like something from a play kitchen.

  2. Great color! The melted red cheese makes it look even more special.

  3. Black pudding in a burger has to be the best innovation ever! I love black pudding, so will definitely be trying that!

    Best wishes, Pete.
