Talk About A Controversial Pasta Dish!
Chefs Michiel and Jeen at “Cook And Drink” shared a terrific story about a “international culinary incident” – involving a beloved Italian pasta dish!
When you enter “Cacio e Pepe” into your search engine, you will get a photo like this one: a beautiful bowl of pasta with an important history in Italy. Michiel and Jeen share the story of how a British broadcaster created a huge controversy for how they shared the recipe…and then the Chefs make a gorgeous bowl of Cacio e Pepe that turned out like this:

Isn’t breaking the rules what it’s all about? Maybe folks should just be more creative in renaming their dishes.
Agree. If BBC Good Food would have called it Spaghetti Alfredo with Pepper it probably would have been okay. What surprised us is the fact that the website didn’t adjust the recipe or the name.
It feels like lazy work or automated…no thought given to use of name…terrific story and recipe you shared!
Thanks for sharing John!
