“Cooking With Crawford” – Joan Crawford That Is! An Incredible Cookbook Dishes With The Iconic Star!

Cooking With Joan Crawford!

Well, this was a delight to discover – there is a cookbook that celebrates the iconic Actress Joan Crawford’s love of food!

A huge “thank you” to the blog “Realweegiemidget Reviews”, which shares this information and review of this great cookbook by Author Jenny Hammerton!

As they posted:

“The content of this book, I am about to review – advocates a surprising but true fact. It’s one truism which appears less documented in all of these visual and written mediums. In her book, this author documents that Joan Crawford was a domestic goddess in the kitchen. It seems that Joan loved cooking for anyone and everyone (and she was even famed for her coleslaw). These are just a few of those many amazing culinary facts about this actress, which I learnt from my cookery book-writing friend, Jenny Hammerton.”

As you can see from this scene from the classic melodrama “Mildred Pierce”, Crawford was comfortable in the kitchen…I am beyond excited to order this cookbook and cook something from it – and of course I will share it here!

And do what I did: went over to Jenny’s blog and signed up! Here’s the link!

I have a series on this blog called “dinner and a movie”, where I make a recipe from a film and then watch it – click here to see the “Big Kahuna Burger” from “Pulp Fiction!”

I also read about iconic Actress Elizabeth Taylor’s favorite chili, which was flown to her on the set of “Cleopatra” in Rome!

Except the restaurant was in Hollywood – she had it flown across the Atlantic to her! So of course I had to make it myself! See the recipe here!

This is a delicious bowl of Chili! Of course there’s the meat-bean-tomato holy trinity, but the bell pepper and spice mix gives it a nice pop in the mouth, and I love to load it up with toppings as well!

I love cooking through Hollywood’s culinary history – I did just that when I paid homage to Musso & Frank, Hollywood’s oldest restaurant!

Click here for the recipes for two incredible dishes, and the best Martini in Hollywood as well!

Finally, I cooked Stanley Tucci’s incredible “Timpano” – a “pasta pie!”

This was a major effort – but worth it! See the recipe – and how I made it by clicking on the story here:

Tucci Rules!

I cooked from Stanley Tucci’s cookbook – another family recipe, and guess what?

It was my #1 most viewed post, and you can see why by clicking on my story here:
