McDonalds Japan really did offer a limited edition beef stew pie!

OK, that’s not real but you know what? I’d try one if it was! In fact, there have been a number of Oreo mashups over the years, and I took part in one:
Yes, I approve of the concept of a bacon-wrapped deep fried Oreo, and ate some deep fried Oreos myself!

Some of the fake food is inspired, like this one that takes a Tide laundry detergent product and offers a tasty alternative:
OK, please remember this is a joke and actually eating one of these would probably kill you!
However, one submission made me think that not all food is fake, no matter how wacky it sounds:
While this may be a fake Lay’s potato chip flavor, it reminded me that there ARE a LOT of wacky Lay’s flavors that are VERY real!

Back to fake ads: here is one with the legendary Actor turned pitchman Mickey Rooney:

So you see, there are lots of funny – and very fake – food ads and products out there, but sometimes real food is involved as well…especially when a classically retro dish is modernized:
Retro Spaghetti-O’s!
So many of us grew up on this classic meal in a can…so I had a blast seeing a Chef pay homage this way:
Yes, those are Spaghetti’O’s with one giant meatball! See the Chef who made a whole retro meal for us!

Thanksgiving Dinner potato crisps sound pretty good to me, John. I’m not so sure about some of the other food combinations though.
I am endlessly fascinated by these, and the line has really blurred between imagined combos and the combos that actually exist and you are the king of finding those !
Great selection, John. We call the last one Spaghetti Hoops here, and that’s the only one I have actually eaten from those listed.
