What’s better than a cheeseburger that looks like THIS?
A Cheeseburger With A Side Of Cab!
That’s right – a wine created to make a great burger BETTER! What a perfect way to get in the holiday spirit! Cheeseburger wine! Congrats to Rootstock Cellars for its Cheeseburger Red!
Rootstock’s Cheeseburger Red is a blend of California Petite Sirah, Barbera, and Syrah – they call it “smooth and jammy, bursting with red fruit that so perfectly complements a slight char. The tannins are assertive, but won’t knock you off your chair. ”
Thai Satay Burgers!
The folks at Rootstock have posted a recipe on their website for a great burger to go with the wine – check this out!
We love that flavor combo of peanuts, citrus, and spice with a lighter meat. Try on the grill for a deeper, smokier flavor.
1⁄2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
1⁄4 cup peanuts, chopped
1 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. fresh lime juice
1 1⁄2 tbsp. fish sauce
2 tsp. ground cumin
1⁄2 tsp. salt
1⁄2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
3 minced garlic cloves
1 lb. ground pork
1 lb. ground turkey
In a bowl, combine all ingredients. Don’t overwork, or the meat will become tough when cooked.
Form 8 patties. Cook in the oven under the broiler until done, or on the grill.
Thanks again to Rootstock for the great food wine!
While we are on the subject of burgers, how about this?
RUSTIC CANYON’S BREAKFAST BURGER!
Behold the Breakfast Burger from Rustic Canyon in LA. Here is what you are looking at: eight ounces of 80/20 Niman Ranch beef, thick cut bacon confit (cooked and preserved in duck fat), Tillamook sharp cheddar, a fried egg, and arugula sitting betwixt a Röckenwagner bun would be enough to make this a burger for end times, but there’s more. Chef Evan Funke adds a round of perfectly-cooked hash browns – yes, hash browns!
From the sublime to the ridiculous:
How about going to a KFC in the Philippines and finding this: the “Cheese Top Burge”r (50 pesos, about $1.18) featuring an “Original Recipe” chicken patty with garlic parmesan dressing on a bun topped with a slice of melted cheese!
Need something MORE unusual? Of course you do, and Burger King is here to help!
BURGER KING GOES BLACK TRUFFLE!
Remember when Burger King in Hong Kong released the Black Truffle Angus XT as part of their premium burger line, the King’s Collection? The burger was topped with mayonnaise mixed with Italian black truffles, along with cheese, bacon, tomato, and curly endive.
OR JUST GO BIG!
Maybe you just need something FILLING:
Yes, good luck wrapping your mouth around that!
OR GO EVEN BIGGER!
Maybe you want a burger that will stick with you for a bit – like a month or two:
OR JUST SAY “EXTRA BACON, PLEASE”!
Or just give in and remember: bacon is your friend.
Whatever you do, enjoy with a nice glass of Cheeseburger Red!
