A 5 Color “Superhero” Cheeseburger? Here’s The “Super Sentai” Burger From Japan!

Who’s “Red With Envy” About This Superhero Burger?

Well I am, because once again a cool new burger is for sale – but in Japan, and I’m in New York!

With National Cheeseburger Day looming tomorrow, I’m celebrating great burgers from around the world – starting with the “Super Sentai!”

First, meet these superheroes:

It’s The “Super Sentai!”

Let’s meet them now! As always, the terrific website SoraNews24.com has the details:

Super Sentai” is the biggest tokusatsu action franchise in Japanese television history. It first rose to mainstream prominence in the west when 1992’s Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger was adapted into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for English-speaking audiences, but in Japan Super Sentai’s roots go all the way back to 1975’s Himitsu Sentai Gorenger, and to mark its 50th anniversary, the Super Sentai Burger went on sale September 12.

Well, I’m a sucker for a specialty burger like this! The burger chain Dom Dom in Japan has this multi-colored gem for sale now. As SoraNews24 reports:

It’s Dom Dom’s new sandwich, which has elements corresponding to Himitsu Sentai Gorenger’s Red, Blue, Pink, Yellow and Green Rangers.

That’s right: a 5 color cheeseburger!

I am fascinated by this one, because visuals matter when deciding how satisfying a meal is. A red bun, a blue ranger cheddar and more wacky colors, does it add up to great taste?

Oh, there is Pink Ranger tomato sauce on it as well!

As I said, we eat with our eyes, and would your eyes bite down on this?

Go to the terrific SoraNews24 review to find out!

I love the reporting that SoraNews24 does on food, pop culture, travel and more…they are a great website with lots of new content daily. That’s where I originally found this:

Yes, that’s a Squid burger in a black bun – would you eat one?

See the results of a taste test here:

And back to the Sentai red bun – they weren’t the first to do it:

What do you think of this “Samurai Red” burger?

See what’s under the bun here:

Finally, I was in Paris last year during the Olympic Games and saw this uniquely colored burger:

I share all of these recipes on my food website “Bite! Eat! Repeat!” – it’s your site for all things food – if you like what you see, please click on my link and follow this blog as well!

  1. We are programmed as mammals not to eat certain colors of food…

  2. It’s a fun idea, but I confess that any vivid colours on food do put me off eating it. (Especially blue, for some reason)

    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. The red bun isn’t to bad but blue cheese. Nope, it doesn’t appeal to me, John.
