Chef Michiel And Jeen Share A Terrific Scallop Gratin Recipe! Scallops Rule!

A “Scallop Lovers” Post!

One of the great things about social media is meeting other people who share a common love of food, and that describes two great Chefs you may know.

Michiel and Jeen from the terrific website “Cook And Drink” always share their passion for food with us, and today they offered up a classic Scallop dish served in the shell!

As they point out:

“This is our preferred version. The dish is an interesting combination of sweetness, richness, aromas and textures. It’s fun to serve in a shell, but it makes for challenging eating. Better to serve in ramekin, which also allows you to serve three scallops per person!”

One other important note – look at this photo they shared:

The Chefs share two other recipes as well, like this Scallop dish with Oyster Mushrooms – and as they note:

“Yes, we serve our scallops with roe. Why discard it? The roe is flavourful and brings another texture to the combination.”

Indeed! Here is the link for their terrific Scallop recipes!

As I said, they were gracious enough to share my Nantucket Bay Scallop recipe on their site, so you can find it there when you link to their story, but they also graciously did NOT share this Scallop dish I made:

Well, that didn’t turn out as expected did it?

I enjoy sharing some of the cooking fails I’ve had because it’s not easy to get it right sometimes…click here to see how I turned my Scallops inadvertently blue:

Well, I also made a Scallop dish that DID turn out alright:

I served these seared Scallops over a made up “Succotash” – you can see the recipe here:

If you enjoy these posts, why not subscribe and never miss out? It’s easy, and there are NO ads of any kind, just stuff I like – from music to movies, books, travel, food and more…click on the main page and “follow” me on the upper right…
