Who’s Hungry?
Well, these “clams in miso nectar” make me want to fly to Tokyo right now to have them again!
More on that in a moment but first, you can blame Carol once again, as he look at food from Japan has me craving their food once again!
Carol’s terrific series lands in Japan, which she write:
“is called the “land of the rising sun” because, from China, it appears that the sun rises from the direction of Japan. The Japanese people call their country “Nippon” or “Nihon,” which literally translates to “source of the sun.” It is loosely translated into English as “land of the rising sun.”… the beautiful cherry blossoms which for many Japanese, the blooming of the cherry blossom trees symbolise human life, transience and nobleness.”
Along with terrific insight about the country and its culture, Carol shares some great information about the cuisines of Japan as well:
Sure there is plenty of sushi and more, but what about these souffle pancakes?
As Carol writes:
“Soufflé pancakes are all about eggs. Egg yolks and egg whites are separated, and the whites are beaten to make the meringue. Just like you would with savoury and sweet soufflé or chiffon cakes… These souffle pancakes definitely require extra time and effort, but I promise after that first bite, you will know it was all worth it.”
I believe her!

I have been to Tokyo 5 times and have had incredible food adventures, like this:
These miso clams came with an added bonus: the Chefs performed for us as we ate…check this out!
Yes, they cooked for us – then performed! Check out our entire meal here:
Tokyo is a city where every meal is memorable…like these eel bowls – served on the top floor of a department store!
Most stores have restaurants on the top floors, serving all kinds of great food – you can see more of our eel adventure here:
And of course, nothing stay “good morning” better than breakfast sushi!
We loaded up with breakfast sushi at the legendary Tsukiji fish market, and you can see more of our adventure here:
I share all of these recipes on my food website “Bite! Eat! Repeat!” – it’s your site for all things food – if you like what you see, please click on my link and follow this blog as well!
Bravo Carol for another terrific installment of your series!
