Who Loves “Polpo alla Luciana”? Chef Mimi Shares A Delicious Recipe Here!

Chef Mimi Cooks A Traditional Italian Octopus Stew!

I’m sharing a great new recipe from Chef Mimi, who posted on her blog the inspiration for the dish!

Mimi posts that the recipe she found is from the blog Vincenzo’s Plate, but she also checked out Frank’s blog Memorie di Angelina just for verification that this was indeed a traditional Italian recipe. The only difference is that Frank uses cherry tomatoes, and Vincenzo uses canned.

I’m “all in” on any traditional Italian Octopus dish!

Check out Mimi’s terrific recipe here:

I always look for new recipes to try – and I also enjoy Octopus, so these were a no brainer:

I love Octopus balls and if you click here you will see why:

And I also spent some time making other traditional Japanese pub food as well:

Yes, squid was involved..click here to see all of the recipes I made that day!

Mimi’s recipe reminded me of how much I love any stew with seafood, like this one:

This Squid stew is delicious and good for you as well!

  1. Thanks so much! I really crave octopus, squid, cuttlefish…. It’s all so good. Really nice of you to post this!

  2. I love most every kind of seafood and this dish looks like nothing I’ve ever had, I’d love to try it

  3. I confess I am not a fan of eating octopus. I have tried it in Greece, and in England, finding it rubbery, too chewy, and unpleasant in the mouth. Unlike squid, which I almost always enjoy.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    • Yes Pete, it has a unique “mouth feel” that many do not like…I am also aware that many do not like consuming it as it is such an intelligent creature…I dont eat it often but this looked great to me so I am going to try it…thanks as always for commenting and sharing!
