Two Iconic McDonad’s Menu Items Are About To Collide!
That’s the McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish on the left – with terrific tartar sauce I might add – and of course, the iconic Big Mac on the right. Who doesn’t know this ditty:
“Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun!”
Well, some of you know I love food mashups, and one day I wondered: what would happen if I took these two great sandwiches and made a McDonald’s “Surf And Turf” Burger?
One quick trip to the drive-through and I was on my way!
There’s the fish sandwich on the left – I could have made it look better as I moved the top bun when I took it out of the container. The Big Mac is on the right, looking a bit more compact than usual…here’s what I did:
As you saw in the video, I took the top off of one and the bottom off of the other, leaving me with a perfect “surf and turf” burger!
I was happy with how it looked, but it was time for a taste test to see if the mashup was a good idea or not:
My review? It was pretty good! I love the Fish sandwich tartar sauce, and the fish filet has a nice flavor…as for the Big Mac, I’m a fan of the sloppy goodness of it, and it had good flavor!

In hindsight, I should have also used the other part of the Big Mac as well – because it really does add some great flavor…I guess I will have to do it again!

Your people need to be in touch with McDonald’s people. I want to see this later this fall. I have to try this sometime. Looks tasty. Ha, ha.
It was fun to try and tasted good – but you know what? I could have just taken out the middle bun on the Big Mac, added the Fish and boom! Thanks of your comment!
I had to google it to check . . . they supposedly sell a Chicken Big Mac internationally and have sold it in small test runs in the US. Who knows? Maybe the Fish Filet Big Mac is next!!!
