Here’s John Legend’s Legendary Chicken Tenders Recipe! Potato Chip Scrambled Eggs Too!

John Legend’s Chicken Tenders Recipe Revealed!

I shared this before, but some people have asked again, so here we go! Singer John Legend appeared on my wife’s TV show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show”, where he taught Kelly how to make his family’s favorite snack food!

As soon as the show aired, Kelly’s great digital team shared the recipe!

You know what that meant…

Time To Make John’s Chicken Tenders!

I will use any excuse to cook something new, so I decided to make Legend’s chicken tenders.

Let’s cook!

Here are the ingredients for the marinade – I have to admit that I NEVER cook with Buttermilk, so this was going to be interesting…

So, I poured the required amount of Buttermilk and the Garlic Salt into a bowl, then added my secret ingredient: some Pumpkin Spice seasoning…

I sliced the chicken breast into long strips, stirred the seasonings into the buttermilk, and then laid the chicken down in the marinade so it could soak up the flavors for a few hours…

Next, I put out my ingredients for the batter…as you can see, it’s flour, baking powder, olive oil, some more Pumpkin Spice seasoning and a little more Buttermilk:

I mixed all of the dry ingredients together well, then poured in the quarter cup of Buttermilk…it didn’t seem like much, but it did give the flour a bit of a flakiness:

Put the recommended amount of oil in your frying pan and turn it on to medium high.

Now, time to grab the marinated chicken and bread it: I started by combining the buttermilk and flour and let me tell you, it’s hard to know exactly where you are supposed to land!

Well, I guess that’s what he meant, so now let’s grab that marinated chicken and get it breaded:

Next up, heat your oil and get frying!

Now that the chicken is in the frying pan, it’s just a matter of letting each side cook 5-6 minutes:

Nothing sounds better than something frying in a frying pan…need proof?

The recipe card says about ten minutes per bath, turning halfway through…I did it more often to make sure they didn’t overgrown – I cheat and will just microwave them for 30 seconds if I am worried the inside won’t cook up enough…I love this level of golden brown:

Once done, take them out and lay them on a plate, where their glistening goldenness is just waiting for you to enjoy!

It’s fun to just make an easy recipe, and not get too complicated: and John’s kids love them and why not? I’d add some fun sauces to them and have a great day!

Those Chicken Tenders are fun to make and snack on – and what about this easy and unique dish?

So unusual but so cool – I made these “Potato Chip Scrambled Eggs” – but guess what? It took two tries to get it right!

Speaking of eggs, here are two different recipes that take full advantage of them:
