Get Ready To Bite Down On This “Bulgogi Burger!”
One of the world’s most inventive hamburger restaurant chains is headed to America!
Lotteria’s Coming To America!

The South Korean burger chain Lotteria has opened in Southern California!
They are legendary for their “Bulgogi Burger”, a sweet and savory marinated beef patty, often praised for its unique flavor that is a hallmark of the chain.

Lotteria has locations across South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and more, but the big news for foodies is they just opened their first U.S. location in Fullerton, California, located just south of Los Angeles in Orange County. The restaurant had its grand opening in August!

Lotteria was founded in 1972 by South Korean businessman Shin Kyuk-ho; its first location opened the same year in Japan. By 1977, Lotteria had more than 100 locations, and expanded to South Korea just two years later in 1979.

Today, South Korea is Lotteria’s biggest market with around 1,300 locations in the country. The chain, which has more than 1,600 locations around the world, may be best known for its unique fast-food dishes such as marinated bulgogi burgers, shrimp burgers, and fried chicken. The name is a portmanteau of Lotte (its parent company) and cafeteria.

I have shared their “Bacon Cube Truffle Sauce Burger”, and you can see how they do it by clicking on my story here:
I also shared this mega-burger as well!

A “towering Tokyo burger” is something I’d love to try and you can see why when you get an unclose look at what’s stacked there – just click here!
They also had a smaller, still very creative burger – one that included potato chips inside!

Yes, you can get a chicken sandwich that way as well…I love their ads, always so colorful!

The wacky Chefs in Asia really know how to cook, remember this burger I shared?

Yes, it’s a Squid Burger on a black bun – I’d eat it…would you?

And finally, there is the Tokyo “Tower To Heaven” that you have to see to believe:
See it in all of its glory here:
I share all of these recipes on my food website “Bite! Eat! Repeat!” – it’s your site for all things food – if you like what you see, please click on my link and follow this blog as well!

Hmmm, don’t think I could do that black burger, it’s not natural! Lol
A warm morning laugh – John, by now you know my ‘thumbs down’ re burgers BUT > I did not know about this huge Asian burger chain AND I wish, wish, wish I could reach into the screen for that squid burger – besides loving all things mollusc, would so like to know what the squid ink bun tastes like or is it just the exotica of the colour which draws 🙂 ?
I would be happy to try a Lotteria burger if they ever open up in the UK. (I had a burger in a pub last night. Two patties, red onion, cheese, onion rings, fried egg. Served with french fries. Tasty!)
Best wishes, Pete.
That sounds great – I love onion rings and always get them when available!
These are huge burgers, John. I’m impressed.
What’s interesting to me Robbie is the Asian flavors they use – I dont think they are as big as the picture makes them out to be – usually Asian culture uses much less meat that Americans…but, since I haven’t gone there yet to try one, I’m not sure if they super-sized for American palates! Thanks as always for the comment!
You are right in the context of Japan. The portion sizes were not big. I liked that. I didn’t leave half my meal 😂
