Would You Eat A Domino’s “Fish ‘n’ Chips” Pizza? Here Are 3 Wild Pizza Ideas And One Volcanic Pizza Too!

Hey – Would You Eat A “Fish And Chips” Pizza?

OK, some of you know that I like to play with my food….so when I saw this picture, I was intrigued:

This reviewer has a look on his face that I don’t always want to have when looking at my food.

Just when I think I’ve seen it all…some wacky culinary visionary decides to cross the boundaries of good taste and make this!

Yes, that is a pizza covered with fish and chips!

It’s real, and SoraNews24 had the story! As they reported – this is from Domino’s Pizza Japan:

“Its latest innovation is a fish and chips pizza. Called the Sakusaku (“Crispy”) Fish and Chips, it’s topped with slices of fried fish and potato, both tomato and tartar sauces, and sprinkled with basil. Perhaps the most unusual ingredient is lemon, in that instead of squeezing some citrus juice on the pizza like you might a basket of pub fish and chips, there are actual lemon slices, peels included, used as a topping!”

As you can imagine, the initial reaction has been, shall we say, polarizing?

In fact, some have gone online to call it:

“designed to insult both England and Italy at the same time!”

Well done!

Full disclosure: I love fish’n’chips, so I would try this, even though there is absolutely NO REASON for it to exist!

Of course, those intrepid Reporters at SoraNews24 had the story – including the offended Londoner they apologized to on social media – with a very tempting offer as well, and you can see more of their reporting here:

Wacky pizzas are nothing new to me:

That’s right, it’s a “Kit Kat Pizza!”

OK, let’s get serious about pizza….like this one that literally wants to explode with flavor!

It’s a “Volcano Pizza”, and the cheese flows like lava! Click here to see it up close!

  1. I’d try them all, but the volcano of cheese one appeals to me the most.

    • I know that some people have a visceral response to these wacky food mashups – and while I’m not sure I’d try them all, I find the creativity funny! Thanks for having an open mind!

  2. No to fish and chips on pizza. 😄 Yes to a volcano of cheese!

  3. No no no. Darn, I’m getting old! But I like thick crust, extra sauce, extra cheese, Canadian bacon onions, and mushrooms!

  4. No, we wouldn’t eat a “Fish And Chips” pizza. The crust of a Domino ‘pizza’ is thick and soggy; not a pizza crust at all. And topping it with Fish and Chips, a classic dish in its own right, shows a lack of inspiration.

    • I share these because crazy food mashups like this happen all the time in Japan..they must find it wacky but I agree that fish and chips exists in a separate universe than pizza! Thanks for commenting!

  5. The ‘Englishness’ in me would make me say no to a fish and chip pizza. Plus I would have to pick all the lemon slices off as I don’t want to eat the rind. But I think it would actually sell well in some areas of Britain.

    Best wishes, Pete.

  6. Only here. John but it had to happen…would I try it probably but I do love the sound of pineapple and pickles and thats one I would try…

  7. Hi John, I wouldn’t want the KitKat pizza because I don’t like sweet mixed with savoury. Fish and chips, however, sounds delicious. That I could go for.
