Now isn’t that a thing of beauty? Not only was there a LOT of bacon on top of the burger, the kitchen actually used large macaroni noodles to really let it stand out – oh, and it came with tater tots as well!

So, if you want to know what it tasted like, I will say this: it’s like eating a bacon cheeseburger and stuffing a little mac’n’cheese in there to boot…a nice addition, not necessary in any way at all, but good!

Now that I have suitably terrified you, let me at least offer up a few ways to maximize your “mac’n’cheese enjoyment” – how about a “bacon-wrapped, mac’n’cheese-stuffed Meatloaf?

Here’s A “Bacon-Wrapped, Mac’n’Cheese-Stuffed Meatloaf” Recipe!

If I’m going to pay through the snout for bacon, I’m going to make it memorable, and this is the way to do it!

The best part is, this is pretty easy to make! Just make a meatloaf blend like this one that “Allrecipes” offers up.

  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup dried bread crumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • ⅓ cup ketchup

Cook your mac’n’cheese separately and have it ready to go – this is a shot of the special version made at Chez L’Ami Louis in Paris.

Next, layer bacon in the bottom of a loaf pan…take your meatloaf mix and press half of it into the pan – then add your mac’n’cheese – and then press the rest of the meatloaf mixture on top…

Lay more bacon on top, tucking it all in together to form a nice seal, and bake at 350 degrees for about an hour…and you will end up with this:

Tell me – if you are into this mac’n’cheese mashup, what about this one?

  1. I like Mac and Cheese, but I usually have it as a side dish, accompanying something like Chicken wrapped in bacon. I definitely would not want to eat it as an ice cream flavour, John! 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.
