Who Wants A Slice Of “Hot Dog Pie?” National Hot Dog Month Goes Into Wild “Mashup” Mode!

Hot Dog Pie?!?!?!

July is National Hot Dog month, so why not celebrate with this unique take on a pie – made with hot dogs!

Don’t turn away – be honest, don’t you want to know more about this?

Well, you do, and here goes: it all began when someone shared this on social media:

Because I am who I am, I was intrigued – it turns out that the post was a joke, yet it’s also oh so real: because someone then made one!

Here you go, a video showing the entire process…you’ve been warned! (It’s actually disgustingly hilarious)

WOW.

I’m honestly not sure what would be worse: the smell of it, or the texture when you slice into it like this:

Now, let’s be honest: aren’t you just a LITTLE BIT CURIOUS?

I AM, AND I’M NOT AFRAID TO SAY IT!

That could be due to the fact that I’ve been fascinated with all of the things that have been done to the hot dog, which I have documented on this blog:

How about “The Broomstick?”

This hot dog is two feet long and sells at a baseball stadium in the US. Show up to the game hungry!

And how about my latest hot dog mashup: why not a slice of cheese pizza – topped with grilled hot dog chunks!

DO NOT JUDGE.

It was delicious!

And remember when I came across a giant “hot dog art” exhibit in New York’s Times Square?

Yeah, so that happened!

And there have been a few other “hot dog inspired” dishes I’ve shared as well:

Remember The “Sushi Hot Dog?”

A very inventive restaurant made these, and they also made “Sushi Bagels” and so much more – you can see all of their incredible food mashups by clicking on my story here:

I was the one who decided one day to create this mashup of iconic foods:

The “Scrambled Egg Hot Dog!”

This is what happens when I have leftover hot dogs, some eggs, and too much time on my hands…see the recipe and my “taste test” by clicking here:

And if you really want to get creative with your food, why not try this?

And my love of hot dogs isn’t limited to the US:

I saw these bacon-wrapped glazed hot dogs on the streets of Seoul South Korea – check out this wild street food:

I loved my time in Seoul – so much food to enjoy!

Here’s a closer look at my “Seoul food” adventure and the recipe for classic “Chicago Dogs” as well:

  1. Okay, I’m a fan of hot dogs, but never cold! The clue is in the name, and I imagine that cold pie would feel horrible in the mouth. Shared on Twitter, John.

    Best wishes, Pete.
