Ramen, Ramen, Ramen…
Do yo love ramen as much as I do? Here in the US, everyone talks about living off of ramen noodle soup in college…cheap, easy, somewhat filling, these “Cup O’ Noodles” – as they were once called here – are still hugely popular:
And when you go to a ramen restaurant, you can order up all sorts of delicious toppings, and they look like this when served:
I love my “sky high”ramen noodles!
But when you are eating ramen noodles out of a styrofoam cup at home, will that Cup Noodles bowl let you down with toppings?
Well, a company wants to resolve that for you!

Ramen Bae has created a product that literally puts you in charge of your toppings!
I saw an ad for this product and decided to give it a try: what shows up is a large package of freeze-dried ramen toppings as you can see – and if you watch this video, you will see what I plan to do with it!
I also decided to use their new “protein ramen” product as well…most of us know that dried ramen noodles are easy to store and use…

With protein the new craze in the US, the company also created protein ramen as well…so I decided to try them both together!

I took the dried ramen, the dried ramen toppings, and matched them with some beef bone broth…you can use miso as well…my only addition will be some tempura shrimp. Here’s what happened next:
As you can see, the dish is very easy to make, like all Cup Noodle ramen noodle products are. After cooking it all together, it was time to serve it!

How Were The Freeze-Dried Ramen Noodle Toppings?
So here’s my review: the recipe for the protein ramen says to boil in water then drain…I cooked them in the broth and they soaked up most of the liquid: in the future I will cook them separate from the toppings.

The ramen itself is a bit chewier than regular noodles, but very tasty…the bone broth gives the dish a bit of a monotone look, and the small pieces of dried topping have a hard time standing out in the dish.

As you can see, some small pieces stick to the noodles, but they mostly remain in the bowl…but they taste good, there is differentiation between the seafood, fish cake and cabbage – all in all, it’s filling, satisfying, but probably could use a different cooking method in the future and even more of the toppings…really pile them on!

Finally, and this isn’t their problem, but have some fresh green onion to dice and toss on the top to offer some freshness and color to the noodles – and those tempura shrimp were a great addition as well!
I have shared my previous ramen adventures, when I did indeed load up my dried noodles with lots of extras:

Yes, I ordered these special “Seafood Cup Noodles!” I discovered a very satisfying way to “upgrade” these noodles – see that review here!
I have focused on what you can add to make dried ramen much more satisfying at home, and I have also shared stories of all the various products in Asia, like this:
This is the Cup Noodle “Mystery Meat” and you can buy it in a box to use however you want! Here’s the story SoraNews24 shared about all of the unique recipes you can make with it!
And Cup Noodle apparently has a goal to satisfy your hunger 24 hours a day!

Yes, you can start your day this way and I’d love to!
