New York’s Amazing Food “Feast” Is Back!
The annual “Feast Of San Gennaro” returns today to New York’s Little Italy neighborhood: 11 days of great food like this!

Braciole!
If you don’t know the name, “braciole” is rolled meat stuffed with breadcrumbs and cheese and cooked in tomato sauce – and is a staple at Italian family gatherings.

At the Feast Of San Gennaro, they are cooked like a massive rolled up sausage on a grill and served with grilled onions and peppers stuffed into a roll – check it out!

As you can imagine, bring a big appetite to this festival to be sure! There is so much great food to choose from, like Zeppoles! Take a look:
A “Zeppole” is an Italian pastry that’s just a deep-fried dough ball topped with powdered sugar.

There is so much more – here’s a look at some of the unique dishes I will be consuming, and more insight on the cultural significance of this event:
One thing I may not try again is this:

A Bag Of Deep Fried Oreos!
Yes, I bought them last time…here’s a sneak peek of my taste test:

I haven’t been to this particular festival, although I did unknowingly go to a similar feast in Boston once. Such fun. I can do without ever trying a deep fried Oreo.
I had to try it….and let’s say “one and done” is the best way to describe it! Surprisingly doughy for something fried! Thanks for the comment, always great to hear from you!
I would love to attend this festival!
Looks like a really great festival!
It really is! Lots of games, two different ferris wheels and lots and lots of food!
What glorious fun! Thank you for your story and photos. Oh, I learned about zeppoles and braciole some15 years back when I first entered rhe food world on line . . , a wonderful Italian-American food blogger from Chicago was my teacher for years . . . miss him still . . . Fried oreos may be another story . . .
Yes, I tried those fried Oreos so you wouldn’t have to – thanks for the comment!
