Who Wants Ice Cream! CRAB Ice Cream!
My wife Alex and I are heading to Japan in a week, and we always seek out the cool, unique, and DIFFERENT food you can find there.
Like Crab Ice Cream!
I would try this! Would you?
Yes, there is a shop in Osaka Japan that sells Crab Ice Cream!

I love crab, so why not ice cold? I love wet food, so hear me out: while I won’t eat some kind of connection like “chocolate-covered scorpions” as a dare, I will try something that is local, enjoyed by locals, and embracedint heir culture. Like this:

I consumed, and loved, coffee jelly…it’s exactly what you think: gelatinized cold coffee, like jello! I loved it and if you click here you can too – and see what else comes in a vending machine in Japan:
I plan to seek out all the unique vending machine food I can while in Tokyo and Kyoto, and will seek out Crab ice cream as well for a taste test. Thanks as always to SoraNews24 for their story and see the taste test here:

I think unique ice cream flavors are great, even if a few go a bit too far.
As we head into the colder days of winter, why not cheer yourself up with some ice cold refreshment – with a twist?

Try These Wild Ice Cream Mashups!
Look at the images above from left to right: these are ice cream flavors I’ve never heard of: beer, pizza, jalapeño pepper, corn, garlic and lobster!
Would I try them? Sure! I don’t see these are disgusting, just unique….like these ones:

Yes, yes, yes, and YES!
Hey, ice cream is fun, so why not have fun with it? And as you can see, some acclaimed Chefs and big companies are jumping in…….and speaking of that:

French’s Mustard Ice Cream!
This is real! And I would try it! Hear me out: I love the flavor of mustard, and French’s classic yellow is indeed classic, so I’d give it a shot!

The French’s Mustard Ice Cream was just the tip of the iceberg – because as you can seen the picture, they also made a mustard ice cream sandwich!
While that looks like fun, and I LOVE the taste of Mustard so it could actually taste good, it led to THIS:

Hot Dog And Mustard Ice Cream Sandwiches!
Yes, Oscar-Meyer decided to go one better, and so last summer, to celebrate “National Ice Cream Sandwich Day”, the hot dog maker came up with this wacky sandwich!
The “Ice Dog” was made up of candied hot dog bits, hot dog sweet cream, spicy Dijon gelato and a cookie bun!
The company had a lot of fun that day on social media, at one point stating:
“Because a hot dog for dinner should be chased by a hot dog for dessert,” the company joked.

And here’s something to share: you know what? I’ve had mustard ice cream already!
You might be surprised to know that some of the world’s greatest Chefs do, indeed, create with Mustard Ice Cream!

This Butternut Squash Soup has Mustard Ice Cream in the middle! And it was delicious! The icy cold mouth feel allows the mustard flavor to slowly envelope your taste buds.
See how it’s made at San Francisco’s terrific Petit Crenn restaurant by clicking here:
We also plan to scour both cities to find food art like this:

It was all part of a special meal where, after the Chefs prepared our delicious meal, they performed for us as well!
See the video here:

Hmmm.. I love ice cream, and I love crab. But crab ice cream? Let us know how it is! 🍦
Crab ice cream? That’s all kinds of intriguing.
I’d try it, and I hope that you two will try all kinds of things there on your upcoming trip and sure you’ll report out to us –
You know what? I’d probably try it too. Can’t wait to see what else you find.
John, I am happy for you to try that crab ice cream, so I never have to! 😊
Best wishes, Pete.
Combining butternut squash soup with mustard ice cream sounds like a great idea! Crab ice cream could be nice, we once enjoyed oyster ice cream, which was sensational. Same by the way for garlic ice cream. Works very well during as a palate-cleanser during a meal with many courses.
Enjoy Japan!
WOW! Oyster Ice Cream! I’d do that in an instant. As I wrote, these are some sort of “dare you to eat it” stuff, these are unique flavors that inventive Chefs are trying to play with and I love it – thanks for the comment!
pleasure!
Hi John, I must admit that I don’t like the idea of any savoury ice-cream. Did I tell you I’m going to Tokyo on 9 December for 10 days?
Wow, I didn’t know that! My wife and I are there next week for a week – 3 days in Tokyo and 3 days in Kyoto! Have you been before?
No, it’s my first time to Japan.
I’m sure you are doing a lot of research but if you have any questions I will be there next week!
Okay, thanks. If you can recommend any good restaurants that’s always a plus. We are booking snow monkeys, Mount Fuji, and a cooking course plus sumo wrestling. I’m also going to a museum and art gallery. If you have other suggestions I’m happy to take your advice 🥰
I would give that a miss…
I plan to find some when in Japan next week and report back – not sure if it’s going to be good or as you say “a miss!”
