The “A – Z” Of World Cuisine Heads To Honduras! Carol Cooks “Plato Tipico” and More!

Carol Cooks Around The World!

The terrific food blogger Carol Cooks is sharing her year-long look at the world’s cuisine and her latest edition took her to Honduras, where she shares the history of this country’s food!

Here is how she describes the photo above:

“The plato típico (literally translating to “typical dish) is more of a meal on a plate. This plate usually includes grilled beef or chicken, rice, refried beans, cheese, ripe plantains, and tortillas. It’s often served with a cabbage and tomato salad…it is also the National Dish of Honduras…”

I have tried to cook more from different countries and cultures, and that led me to discover “Sonoran” cooking – thanks to Singer Linda Ronstadt!

Her second memoir is a food story, sharing the flavors of her childhood – I made this unique soup dish and the recipe can be found by clicking here:

I traveled in that area of the US, and got the chance to try a unique taco from the oldest family-owned Mexican restaurant in the US!

While they look like regular tacos, the way they are made is a hundred years old!
