Bite Into My Holiday Food Ornaments! Here’s My Tasty Christmas Tree!

It’s A “Food Tree” Christmas!

Regardless of how you celebrate, the holidays are a time to “brighten up” your surroundings – to celebrate in what ever way works for you and your loved ones – but for me, it’s with food ornaments – and here’s the best part:

That’s Right: “Christmas Calories Don’t Count!”

I will be sharing a holiday recipes one rat next two weeks, and so we have an ornament that makes everything I eat over the holiday “A-OK!”

This classic hamburger stand chain is iconic in Seattle, and this year in New York, I’ve got three new cheeseburger ornaments from Dick’s to add to the tree – here’s one, and yes it comes with their familiar yellow/gold wrapper:

This is just the latest for my food ornament collection. To see all of the newest ornaments, click on my story here:

My good friend Steph knew my obsession and got me this great gift – a fully loaded cheeseburger ornament!

My Sister-In-Law Lauren also got me one – maybe this one, there are multiple and I love them all!

All this is a setup for my annual tradition – packing our holiday tree with as many food ornaments as I can find – like these!

Hungry?

Bite into my submarine sandwich ornament!

Yep, that’s a classic food cart cup of New York coffee!

As you can see, I love these food ornaments, but where did this tradition come from?

Well, according to the internet, which as you know can ALWAYS be trusted:

“Germany is credited with starting the Christmas tree tradition as we now know it in the 16th century when devout Christians brought decorated trees into their homes. Some built Christmas pyramids of wood and decorated them with evergreens and candles if wood was scarce.”

OK, I’ll buy that! It goes on to add:

“The evergreen fir tree has traditionally been used to celebrate winter festivals (pagan and Christian) for thousands of years. Pagans used branches of it to decorate their homes during the winter solstice, as it made them think of the spring to come.”

So, what began that way has become this:

Alex shared this on Instagram: and here’s a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a cheeseburger and fries basket!

I mean, these are classics for the ages – oh, and as you would probably guess, bacon has become a staple as well:

Here are some of the best ornaments I have:

Yes, I’ve been receiving ornaments of all types of food: from bacon, it was an easy jump to an entire Parma Ham!

Not to be outdone, a few friends decided to expand my food horizons with, what else?

Sushi!

Yes, I’ve gotten quite a collection going!

I will keep looking for new designs and share them with you as well!

There are so many ways to celebrate the holidays with food – even a simple, dignified tree like this would wow your guests –

RIGHT?

How can you argue with a “hot dog” Christmas tree? Well, it’s just one of many wacky holiday dishes you can serve – I love finding retro dishes like this:

Yes, a “Tuna Fish Tree” will wow your guests, and I have many more delicious holiday ideas as well, just click on my story here for more!

I you want an edible tree, why not add these? They are real you know:
